Paver Calculator

Patio, walkway or block paving — the pavers plus the gravel base and bedding sand underneath.

Updated 2026-10-20 · Based on: standard block, brick and paver sizes with their mortar joints.

How to use the Paver Calculator

  1. Enter the patio length and width.
  2. Pick the paver size and joint width.
  3. Set the base depth (4 in for patios, 6–8 in for driveways) and sand depth (1 in).
  4. Read pavers, base and sand.

Formula

Pavers = area ÷ ((paver length + joint) × (paver width + joint)) × (1 + waste).

Base gravel = area × depth × 1.15 (it compacts); bedding sand = area × 1 in.
